Since 2016 we have undertaken urban and rural projects, for private clients and businesses. We have offices in Petersfield, Hampshire and Harrogate, North Yorkshire and undertake commissions across the UK and abroad. Projects range from intricate London outdoor spaces to country house gardens, Paragraph 84 houses and large estates.
Our team has wide-ranging knowledge of contemporary and historic gardens across the UK and Europe, as well as experience in architectural design at the highest level. We have a particular specialism in woodland and water gardens.
For us, each project is unique. We carefully gather information on a client’s vision, their budget, the unique qualities of the site and the wider landscape. Then we develop the strongest design that brings these elements together, beautifully and with impact.
We are well used to working with private clients, developers, architects, planning consultants and others; being called in to projects at the drawing board or nearing completion.
Kit Peel MSGLD
Kit is a registered member of the Society of Garden and Landscape Designers. He holds a FDA in garden design, graduating with distinction, and has travelled across Europe over many years, immersing himself in contemporary and historic garden-making. His design style is formal, timeless, with a love of old-school glamour. He is known for building lasting relationships with leading contractors, ensuring the studio’s projects are delivered on time and budget. Previously, he worked in foreign news for over a decade, before spending a magical year on the Greek island of Hydra where he rediscovered a childhood love of wildflowers. Returning to his family home in the Yorkshire Dales, he volunteered in the famous gardens of Newby Hall while training in garden design. A published author, Kit also writes garden design and nature features for Country and Town House magazine, The Sunday Times, The Guardian and other media.
The Team
Sus Guthrie
Having studied ‘Plantsmanship’ at the Chelsea Physic Garden, Sus graduated with distinction from the London College of Garden Design at The Royal Botanic Gardens in Kew.
Sus is passionate about creating beautiful sustainable and environmentally friendly gardens, with attention to detailing, in planting, structure and hard landscaping. Understanding the spirit of the place and gathering knowledge from the local landscape, her aim is to bring more nature into our gardens, improving biodiversity and creating connected habitats, while considering careful design. With her interior design background she also enjoys sourcing fabrics, furniture and ornaments to create bespoke outdoor spaces.
Thomas Chapman-Andrews
Tom studied architecture at The Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL, before joining Thomas Heatherwick as he set up his Studio in 1998. Tom was instrumental in the development of the Studio as it grew over the following 13 years. In that period he took time out to complete his studies and work on a couple of small scale rural developments in North Yorkshire. At Heatherwick Studio, Tom led and delivered a wide variety of projects, most notably: the Longchamp retail flagship, New York; the Boiler Suit, and Guys Approaches for Guys Hospital, London; Artist Studios, Aberystwyth. Tom’s primary interest is making and how materials inform that process. He takes a collaborative approach to design and building, and loves to work with highly skilled artisans in the delivery and realisation of projects.
Steve Booker
Steve is an accomplished Project Manager and Interior architect, whose career has spanned commercial office fit-out, luxury residential, landscape and leisure projects.
Educated in Structural Engineering and Quantity Surveying, Steve’s design passion lies in bespoke joinery, art and landscape design.
Professionally he coordinates his broad education and experience to deliver design solutions that focus on detail and build quality.
